Fast CAE predictions become ever more important in vehicle development process. Design decisions are based
more and more on virtual prototypes, as time-to-market must be reduced. The additional trend of mass customization forces engineers to evaluate and design a higher number of vehicle variants on a lower number of platforms. We present here different tools develop especially for fast modification and optimization analyses. These tools are based on modal projection methods or on a novel Wave-Based Substructuring (WBS) technique. This approach enhances the efficiency of model substructuring when the interface connection contains many dofs like for a line connection. Results are presented that illustrate the application of the tools on real test cases.
