LMS International announces support of the MXI-2 and "Firewire" interfaces for VXI-based LMS CADA-X systems. The Integration of the PCI-based MXI-2 interface is the result of a long-standing cooperation with Agilent Technologies and is important for continued support of LMS software on the HP-UX or Windows NT platforms - the original EISA-based MXI-1 being obsolete. The new interface provides higher data acquisition speeds, and Plug&Play integration.
The support of the E8491B Firewire interface in LMS CADA-X increases the raw throughput speed of PC-based systems. The Firewire or IEEE 1394 interface is a high-speed serial bus, with hot-plugability, that will allow connection of up to 16 VXI mainframes. This interface is optimized for transfer of large blocksizes and has been accepted by many hardware and software manufacturers as the standard for high-speed engineering applications.
The LMS CADA-X software suite for multichannel testing and analysis covers a broad range of applications: Rotating Machinery Testing, Structural testing, Acoustic testing, Time Data Acquisition and Processing, Multi-axis actuator control.
