LMS International has announced the release of LMS FALANCS and LMS TecWare 2.10, state-of-the-art software for Fatigue Lifetime Prediction and Durability Analysis. TecWare and FALANCS provide unique and powerful capabilities to streamline the process of testing, analyzing and optimizing fatigue-life of components and systems.
LMS TecWare is used for field data manipulation, rainflow-based analysis, and durability related data reduction prior to (physical) rig or virtual testing. LMS FALANCS enables engineers to predict the critical life locations and time to fatigue failure of components and systems subject to real-life loads. By accurately predicting the life of a component, manufacturing companies are reducing physical test cycles and improving product reliability, resulting in moving high quality products to market faster at reduced cost.
The new release of LMS TecWare focuses on improving productivity and ease-of-use. The new Durability Data Management module streamlines the process of storing, organizing and retrieving the vast amount of engineering data that are generated during the durability process. It helps engineers to control data workflow, assign attributes to data sets, and set access permissions. Users are able to search for durability data using attributes, or conditions. Enhancements to TecWare Batch enable users to automate their workflow of data collection, consolidation, and analysis, as well as build tools for general calculation tasks, and parameterize methods easier and faster than before. Finally, the ability to analyze rotating components has been improved with superposition, and extrapolation of rotating RF matrices and reconstruction of the appropriate time histories.
New and enhanced features of LMS FALANCS 2.10 include: a topological hot spot detector which allows fast identification of critical failure locations and to speed up the further analysis (e.g. parameter studies) focussing on those critical areas; efficient calculation for transient input like consecutive series of stress plots; safety factors for endurance limit, output of local stress / strain time histories; Dang Van damage criterion; spot weld analysis for CDH model (HEXA elements).
LMS FALANCS is an open solver that works with most commonly used FE-solvers (MSC.Nastran, I-DEAS, ANSYS, Abaqus, Elfini, Pro/Mechanica, PERMAS) and most post-processors (Patran, I-DEAS, Hypermesh, CATIA/V4, ANSYS, Pro/mechanica, MEDINA), so there is no need to learn a new user environment.
